We’re proud to announce our sponsored triathlete, Laura Bennett, will be heading to the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London! On Friday, May 11, at the International Triathlon Union event in San Diego, Bennett claimed the third and final spot on Team USA for women’s triathlon – her second Olympic appearance since 2008. Her strong finish is a reflection of how Bennett trains, which includes a focus on nutrition and eating the right sources of lean protein.
“When I’m training for a race, recovery is an extremely important part of my process,” said Bennett. “Lean protein sources like AllWhites egg whites help my body recover and build lean muscle – ensuring I’ll perform at the highest level.”
With just 25 calories and 5 grams of protein per serving, AllWhites 100% Liquid Egg Whites is a fat-free and low-calorie source of lean protein that is pasteurized and can easily be used for meals and snacks, such as omelets, muffins, or smoothies. The easy-to-pour, no-mess carton makes it ideal for athletes-on-the-go.
“Professional athletes like Laura need protein for energy and recovery therefore lean protein such as AllWhites helps them reach their fitness goals,” said Rebecca Manges, marketing manager for AllWhites Egg Whites. “We congratulate Laura on her wonderful achievement and look forward to watching her race toward her Olympic dreams this summer.”
Bennett is currently the highest ranked American women triathlete in the International Triathlon Union World Championship Series rankings. She placed fourth in the women’s triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as part of Team USA.
