Most married couples work to strengthen their relationship. But how many accomplish the following each week together – swim 12 to 16 miles, run 50 to 85 miles and bike 160 to 320 miles? We’d hazard to guess the answer is just one: Greg and Laura Bennett, a pair of Olympic triathletes based in Boulder, Colorado.
Check out all their accomplishments!
- Greg is a winner of 6 World Cup titles and took 4th place for Team Australia in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In 2007, he won the Triathlon Grand Slam, a series of five races across the US. He most recently took 1st place at the 2011 Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship Elite Cup in Des Moines, Iowa.
- Laura is currently the highest ranked American triathlete in the women’s International Triathlon Union World Championship Series rankings. She placed 4th herself in the women’s triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as part of Team USA.
Now, Greg is coaching Laura, helping her toward her latest goal: becoming part of Team USA for the 2012 Olympic games in London.
Bennett Quick Training tips
- For lean protein, the Bennetts turn to AllWhites 100% Liquid Egg Whites. In addition to providing the body with vital nutrients, lean protein keeps you feeling full longer and helps aid in muscle recovery after workouts.
- Find a training partner. When you workout with someone it’s a lot easier to get out the door.
- Do something every day. Up to 30 minutes is a good benchmark.
- Plan times for cool downs and massages and visits to the chiropractor.
